An unexpected premiere.

HBO originally scheduled Sakharov, an HBO Premiere™ film, to debut in September of 1984, but due to circumstances involving the actual person, Andrei Sakharov, upon whom the movie is based, it was announced on June 2, 1984 that the premiere would be moved up to June 20th.

This broadcast replaced a scheduled airing of Race for the Yankee Zephyr.
